The Grace of God

And when you have done that you can then go on to live a life pleasing to God. But don't make the mistake of thinking that you must now be good in order to get to heaven. God wants you to be good because that is right. He does not want you to carry on sinning as before. But living a good life will not earn you a place in heaven. That place is already reserved for you when you, 'confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead'. You cannot do anything to make God love you more, and you cannot do anything to make God love you less. He loves you. The Christian life, after you have been saved, is all about becoming more like Jesus, which is good, right and proper. But even if you get to be very like Jesus, that will not make you more worthy of heaven, because your salvation, your place with God is a gift which is given when you believe in Jesus.

So then, become a believer. He wants you. When you confess that you have sinned, and accept Jesus' sacrifice for you, you will be forgiven for your sins and you will enter eternal life.

Jesus said:

I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?4

By the way, that last sentence was Jesus's, not mine.

So, do you believe it?

Become a believer and receive eternal life. This is a matter of the heart. It all takes place in the heart, but you must confess what is in your heart with your mouth.
